Photographs and pieces of school uniform were just some of the items used by schoolchildren at Adlington House at Rhos-on-Sea to create their own little piece of history.
32 children from Conway Road Infant School donned hard hats to direct digging operations at a secret location at Adlingtons Abbey Road development. They were uncovering a new home for their time capsule which will remain underground and undisturbed for the next 150 years.
Pupils were invited to take part in the historical event and add any items they thought would be of interest in 2159. Most of the children added their own pictures in the hope that when the capsule is retrieved in 150 years time its contents would provide an insight into what life was like in 2009.
Sales and Marketing Manager, Claire Reede says:
We wanted to mark the completion of our retirement apartments in Rhos on Sea in a way that involved the local community; and getting the children from Conway Road Infants on-board and taking part in our time capsule burial was just perfect.
